About Us

Buckenbah Collective is a hub for local business, community and commerce in Geurie.

Where:

Geurie is in the Central West of New South Wales, 30 minutes east of Dubbo.

Our building is located in between the local petrol station and the pub in Geurie! [Next to the Geurie car-yard!]

We are on the main highway - the Mitchell Highway - with heaps of parking. A bus stop is across the road, and the train station is 100 metres away. You can get a taxi from Dubbo, but it costs about $80.00…

Who: In June 2022 the Foley family sold 55 Buckenbah Street, Geurie to Buckenbah Collective Pty Ltd. Buckenbah Collective was jointly founded by Eliza Whitely and Claire Booth (nee Osborn).

Claire and Eliza are local Geurie ladies who got talking about their hopes and aspirations for the future of Geurie. Both women were excited when a small piece of real estate on Geurie’s front street, came up for sale - it was so FULL of potential!

As Eliza was stepping out, Libby Wilson stepped into the collective in April 2024, Libby and Claire are the directors of Buckenbah Collective.

How: We LOVE people who have an idea, and make things happen. We pride ourselves on walking the walk, not just talking the talk….

We really enjoy people who are honest, transparent and take pride in what they do.

We live by the motto “measure twice, cut once”, and are guided by professional advisers, and work alongside registered local tradespeople.

Why: Some of us are local farmers, and like many other local farmers, we think in terms of ‘decades’. If life is good and kind, we are likely to be farming in the Geurie region for next 50 years, so it makes sense to invest in our local village and create opportunities for everyone.

Others of us are seriously proud to be part of Regional Australia. We want to learn how to invest in small rural and regional areas, and hopefully inspire others to do similar things.

We can’t “be” who we can’t “see”… and we love being able to prove that anything is possible in Geurie - with time and hard work.
